Description

This short, easy hike is more accessible than La Vista Verde and still provides fantastic views of the Rio Grande Gorge! You'll begin by hiking along the rim from the well-developed Rift Valley trailhead. The navigation on this hike is very easy.

You'll simply follow the rim as closely as possible the entire way, ending at a bench about a mile and a half away.

If you don't want to walk quite so far, there's another bench that serves as a great turnaround point about halfway through. The trail is sandy and flat, and the first section is quite wide.

These features make for very easy walking.

The trail does narrow a bit before reaching the second bench, but the walking is still quite easy and achievable. Be sure to take your time on this scenic hike to soak in the many vistas! The incredible views of the deep gorge and the rushing river below are the entire point.
