Description

There's a plethora of routes you can skin uphill at Winter Park, but this one makes a go-to for many regulars.

It’s a direct route from the base to Sunspot, offering a steady workout on the up and fantastic runs down.

All the descents are either blue or black, so you’ll want to conserve some juice in the legs.

You could even make the uphill more difficult by skinning up one of the steeper runs instead.

As an added bonus, Hughes is one of the few trails at Winter Park that remains open to uphill after the resort has closed for the season.

As long as there’s still snow you can keep getting your spring laps here. Winter Park allows all-day uphill access with the purchase of an armband.

The cost is not too steep, and the money goes to local search and rescue, so you can really feel good about earning your turns and supporting a good cause! Check out the resort’s [uphill policy](https://www.winterparkresort.com/the-mountain/uphill-policy) and get your pass online.
