Drift Creek Falls is a stunning waterfall that soars off a sheer cliff of volcanic rock, plunging down into a creek that flows far below.

The falls are dramatic in part because it is the actual junction of two different creeks: one flows in from the right side, while Drift Creek Falls plunges off the mountainside and merges into the first creek in the bottom of the gorge. This stunning falls deep in the Coast Range has become the focal point of a popular hike.

An incredible suspension bridge has been built over the gorge to provide access to the best view of the falls.

But the only way to reach this suspension bridge and the view is by hiking 1.3 miles down a hillside.

It's incredible that the builders went to so much effort to construct a suspension bridge so deep in the forest, that now, the bridge is as much of a destination as the waterfall itself. The hike is easy and smooth, with a small amount of elevation change.

The scenery in this lush Coast Range forest is absolutely stunning.

This portion of the forest is high enough in the mountains that it isn't quite as wet as the rain forest directly on the coast.

Observing the differences between different areas of the range make for an entertaining hike. This hike is a popular family-friendly affair.
