Description

One of the few all-downhill walks in Hong Kong, the Parkview to Tai Tam Walk is perfect for a family outing away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

On top of that, the trail is fully paved, making it an easy pushchair option.

The walk starts at Parkview, where you continue on the road past the residential building block towards a barrier.

Pass the barrier and carry on straight down the paved path.

Weave through spectacular viewpoints of the Tai Tam group of reservoirs as you meander along the lush route.

The middle section of the walk features common local plant species, including the Don Blue Berry and the beautiful bright pink Hong Kong Camelia.

Further along, the Tai Tam Tuk Reservoir masonry bridges along the route are an engineering sight for sore eyes with their curved granite arches looming above calm blue waters.

As you cross the dams, look over the edge to see large fish swimming in the water.

If the kids are up for a break from the walk, this is a great opportunity to stop and feed the fish.

The many picnic tables and barbecue pits along the route make for a perfect lunch spot surrounded by tranquil nature, so pack some snacks if you'd like to stop and eat along the way. This relaxing walk surrounded by nature will leave the whole family at peace.

Once at the end, on Tai Tam Road, hop on one of the buses or jump in a taxi to Stanley for a delightful meal by the seaside and a nice cooling drink to perfectly round off the family day out.
