Description

This is one of the routes at Snowmass that’s designated for uphill travel all day long.

It starts from the main base area and goes up to High Alpine Restaurant, for a respectable vertical gain of more than 2000 feet.

For the most part, it follows nice wide runs where downhill traffic can spread out, but there are some constricted sections.

Once at the top you’ll have a selection of blue runs and even some tree skiing for the descent, making this uphill well worth it on a powder day.

Even if you don’t get up before the lifts open, you can probably find freshies at the margins of these runs. Aspen Snowmass allows uphill from 5am-10:30pm with an uphill pass.

Be sure to check the [uphill policy](https://www.aspensnowmass.com/four-mountains/snowmass/uphill-policy) for more information and how to get a pass before you go.
