Description

Ofer Forest is located in the heart of the Carmel mountain range, and recently, the Carmel Sea Active Recreation Park was dedicated here.

Thanks to the designated recreation park, you'll find four marked bike routes in the forest, along with additional cross trails that offer different ride combinations.

Riders familiar with the area will be able to construct much more complicated and advanced routes than this one, but for riders who are new to Ofer Forest, this recommended loop on the Ridge Line Trail is a great way to get acquainted with the area. The Ridge Line trail is a cross-country ride that follows mostly smooth singletrack around the forest.

Occasional sections of dirt road are used to connect the singletrack, but then it's back onto flowy, narrow trails.

This ride is a non-technical romp through the forest that most beginners and intermediate riders will enjoy.

Even though the trails are non-technical, this is an aerobic ride with 561 meters of climbing along this 20.5-kilometer ride. "Along the route, there are varied scenic views and narrow forest paths that pass through groves of cypress trees, pines and shrubs," according to [KKL-JNF.org](https://www.kkl-jnf.org/tourism-and-recreation/tours/ofer-forest.aspx).

You'll also discover some intriguing archeological sites along the way.

You also might "see wildlife such as deer, fox, songbirds, mongoose, and jackals."
