Description

Beaver Mountain is a tiny resort that's out of the way from just about anywhere, but there is some good backcountry skiing in the Bear River Range nearby.

If you're in the area with your touring gear, you could enjoy generous uphill access provided by this small-town ski hill.

"The Beav" even has decent sidecountry of its own, so you could get a full-value tour at this underrated mountain. The resort allows uphill travel pretty much anywhere on the mountain during off-hours, but even during open hours, you can skin up the route mapped here.

It snakes up blue runs from the base area all the way to the top, for more than 1500 feet of vertical.

Check out Beaver Mountain's [uphill policy] online, so you can be in the know before you go.
