Description

A relatively easy day with an optional extra 600m skin up a summit, easily missed in poor weather or if acclimatising slowly. Our day begins descending the ladders, then a gentle skin up to the Grunhornlucke, 3280m.

This easy ski pass accesses another big glacier system and has amazing views of the Finsteraarhorn, 4274m, the largest mountain in the area.

A lovely easy open E facing descent leads you under a spur at about 2900m, then a mellow skin up to our peak for the day, Wysnollen at 3590m.

Admire the panoramic views, taking care of the precipitous drops to the N and W.

This normally has great snow on the descent, followed by a short climb to our hut for the night, the Finsteraarhorn Hut at 3048m.
