Description

This loop on Circle O might be short, but it provides an excellent introduction to Moab slickrock slab riding for beginners and early intermediate riders. On Circle O, riders will be able to practice following painted lines to complete the trail—an unusual experience if you've never done it before.

They'll also be able to practice pumping through the various ripples and rolls in the slickrock, dropping down short hills, and then grunting back up the other side.

Small clefts in the rock form small but sharp V's that must be negotiated carefully but also provide a great training ground. Every slickrock slab is different, however, and the rough, rippled surface of Circle O isn't reminiscent of the named Slickrock trail whatsoever.

Slickrock consists of an entirely different type of sandstone that creates much smoother slabs.

The rough, rocky ride on Circle O can feel punishing at times, making you feel like you've pedaled much farther than your GPS might indicate! Finished Circle O and haven't had enough yet? Consider adding on the [Lazy EZ Loop](https://fatmap.com/routeid/31037/lazy-ez/) or [North 40 Loop](https://fatmap.com/routeid/31626/north-40) for more mileage.
