Description

What do you do when it is the first warm day of the season? Stay off avalanche prone slopes and soak in the sunshine while on a scenic tour.

This tour was mainly about seeing potential ski tours in the future but non the less it is scenic.

Would I recommend this tour…well not really but if you want to do something different put this tour in your back pocket. We parked the car on the Eastern shore of Rostavatn right below Kvennelva and follow the lookers left side of the creek up into the alpine.

Once in the flats you will find a snow covered bridge to cross before making your way South to the low ridge of Veti Brattlifjellet.

From here transition and make your way east into the Raselvdalen valley. Once within the valley stick to the lookers right side of the creek making sure to stay a few meters above the low point.

All of the slopes that run from the west are steep so it is important to stay on the opposite side.

Slowly follow the valley until it terminates at a low col between Brattlifjellet to the South and Nerotinden to the north. For your final run drop into the North bowl of Brattilfjellet and start traversing hard for numerous kilometres until you reach the base of the Vasseldalen valley.

Just after the creeks join forces you will find a bridge to cross which after 20 minutes of following will take you to Camp Tamok. Maybe I should have mentioned earlier that this is a ski tour that needs 2 cars….
