The nature is great BUT The refuge is old but ok but the people who use it...

not so much.

We found the place in a horrible mess.

I felt so bad about the place that came back the next week and carried two big bags of trash down from the mountain. People in Bulgaria tend to leave stuff in these shelters...

stuff like food, bottle of water and so on.

However I think that is a huge mistake and very uncommon in other places I've toured (Alps, Scandinavia and US). I feel it is the people who are unprepared and disrespectful of the mountains that need all the stuff that locally mindful people leave behind.

However most of these things never get carried down from the mountain and what is left is a mess. For example people leave open food packs, which leads to mice entering and pooping all over the place.
