Description

This figure-8 route anchored by the Missing Link trail is a great progression loop for newer riders looking to build their mountain bike skills. From the trailhead, pedal up the dirt road a short way to pick up the Missing Link trail on the right. Missing Link begins with a short climb on non-technical singletrack to reach the fun! Once on top of the small hill, you'll start to flow down the descent and will soon reach an exposed rock slab on top of a small hill.

Here the fun really begins, and you'll get the chance to roll down a series of back-to-back rock slabs embedded in the trail surface.

These rock slabs are about as easy as you'll find in BC, and as such, they provide the perfect training grounds to help you build the confidence needed for bigger rock slabs and bigger rock features.

After the slabs, you'll finish this fun descent on swoopy, mellow singletrack. Once back a the junction with the main dirt road, take a turn onto Kitty Litter and follow it to Space Nugget.

This two-trail combination provides a short, flowy descent back down to the trailhead that is perfect for getting a feel for Cumberland mountain biking.

On Kitty Litter, you'll encounter a few rocks in the trail, some low berms, and a few wooden bridges that are close to the ground.

Practicing on these low-consequence wooden bridges will help build your confidence on manmade features. Space Nugget continues the swoop and flow with a series of beautifully-sculpted back-to-back berms on delightful singletrack.

This section of trail is a bit rootier than Kitty Litter, providing a slightly different trail character. Before you know it, you'll be back to the trailhead feeling quite accomplished for the challenges you've just overcome!
