Description

Dog Mountain is one of the more popular days hikes to explore Mount Seymour Provincial Park.

A shorter 5-kilometer hike with minimal elevation gain overall, it's a great way for everyone in the family to enjoy cliffside views reaching as far as Vancouver on a clear day.

While some may consider the hike *easy*, others may consider it *moderate* due to the uneven terrain laden with rocks and roots.

Short, yet steep, climbs can also be more difficult for some hikers.

A common trail to snowshoe in the winter, this hike can also be extended with a side trip to Dinky Peak, or by forming a loop with the more difficult Suicide Bluffs Trail.

Due to its popularity, a hiking permit and parking pass may be required during certain time of the year, so plan accordingly. Source: [vancouvertrails.com](https://www.vancouvertrails.com/trails/dog-mountain/) [outdoorvancouver.com](https://www.outdoorvancouver.ca/dog-mountain-hike-north-vancouver/)
