Description

As the name would suggest, this route connects Whistler Village to the top of the Blackcomb Gondola via a steady, steep climb to the summit.

The trail is most often hiked bottom to top and if you do not have a season pass for the resort, make sure to purchase a ticket for the gondola before you begin your hike.

The hike alternates between lush forests, open ski runs, and then offers spectacular views as you near the end of your trek.

Plan at least 3 - 4 hours to complete the hike and be sure to pack water, snacks, and other pertinent supplies due to its difficulty. Hiking poles may help some with this hike, and note that it is only recommended to enjoy when the lift is open.

Should the lift not be running, you would have to complete an out-and-back to enjoy the trail.

This route is not recommended for younger or inexperienced hikers, and is not open for pets to join. [Source](https://www.vancouvertrails.com/trails/ascent-trail/)
