Description

Tomba’s is a small cut glade, leading two a chute with 2 icefall drops.

After the first 20-30 feet of Upper Perry Merrill, look for tracks entering the woods.

These tracks meander through the woods in a sort of slalom before cutting back to the left.

When it does you will pop out on top of a chute.

This chute is free of trees and was likely created by runoff erosion, as suggested by the ice flow.

After about 2 turns, you’ll be right on top of the first bulge.

This ice small, non vertical and can be negotiated with a sideslip.

A few turns later the next bulge is in view.

This can be anywhere from 5 to 10 feet depending on snowpack and time of year.

Unlike the previous ice bulge, this one is mandatory.

Don’t take it too big because the exit is not very steep.

You end on Upper Perry Merrill.

From here you can continue straight across the trail into more unmarked glades.
