Description

Take a watersidewalk around Loch Muick to enjoy the stunning scenery.

The route is about 7.5 miles long and includes a circular track around the loch.

The Glas Allt Shiel waterfall is at the western end of the loch and can be visited as part of the circular route. The route includes some modest climbs over the course of 7.5 miles.

It begins at the Balmoral Estate visitor centre (near the parking lot) and travels west along a pleasant path to the loch.

You'll cross the River Muick and walk through forest and open country until you reach the loch.

The lochside path then takes you to Glas-allt Shiel house, the former country retreat of Queen Victoria, where you can see the Glas Allt Shiel waterfalls.
