Description
This is a physically demanding 43 km ski.
Took me and my partner 11 hours, and we weren't going particularly slow.
The ski out along Moraine Lake and Moraine Lake Roads is a slog and not that enjoyable on full AT setup.
It is much faster and more fun on XC skis...
The climb up Wenkchemna pass is a massive slope and very committing.
I thought Opabin was daunting but Wenkchemna is a much bigger slope.
This one needs good stability.
The last portion of climbing up Opabin is steep with kickturns + bootpack.
At the top of Opabin is a short nearly vertical slope to drop into the slope.
My partner has to boot pack down it.
The whole tour is a type 2 epic adventure.
Nothing easy about it.
Enjoy! ;)
