Description
At a height of just 208m, Mount Coolum is one of the more accessible mountain hikes on the Sunshine Coast.
This distinctive peak, the centre piece of the eponymous Mount Coolum National Park, is visible from much of the Sunshine Coast, and draws visitors throughout the year. Needless to say, many come to enjoy the 360 degree views from the top of the Mountain.
But along the way, they also get to see an abundance of wildlife and Montane heath - a community of plants that grow in just a few parts of Queensland.
A relatively short, sharp climb, most hikers can complete the 2km out-and-back in around an hour.
However, it always pays to leave plenty of time to enjoy the views and nature that are part of this lovely climb.
