The Lazy EZ beginner loop isn’t actually lazy and it’s not all that easy, but compared to other trails in Moab this is a great beginner option that’s also entertaining and scenic.

Description

Moab is renowned for tech gnar and death-defying cliff exposure, but what if you’re a beginner rider who’s not interested in risking life and limb? In recent years, Moab Trail Mix has done a superb job of building trails for all types of mountain bikers, and the Lazy EZ trail in the Moab Brand Trails trail system is one of the most easily-accessible beginner trails in the region. While this trail isn’t all that lazy and it’s not-so-easy, this short loop provides a great mix of small climbs, descents, small rock features, and swooping turns to help beginners push their boundaries just a little bit more.

The views of the surrounding rock formations and the La Sal Mountains in the distance are sure to keep riders entertained, and the swoop and flow is fun for everyone—advanced riders included.

Adding to Lazy EZ’s beginner appeal is the easy access off the highway to the trailhead, and the variety of options in the Moab Brand Trails.

If this loop proves to be too difficult or too long, riders can easily bail out to the paved bike path partway through, or even cut the loop in half.

If, however, you want more pedaling and want to continue pushing your boundaries, numerous connectors and loop options provide extra mileage and increases in technical difficulty.

A few trails in this network even push the double black diamond barrier, if you’re into that thing.
