Description

The Thorpe Cloud and Dovedale Stepping Stone walk is a popular route in the Peak District.

This walk takes you through some of the most stunning scenery in the park, and is perfect for a family day out. You’ll reach the stepping stones first, smaller kids might need a helping hand here, and on a hot summers day it might be worth packing swimming costumes too! Once you cross the stepping stones you’ll see a sign point up to Thorpe Cloud.

The path to the top is steep and can be quite challenging for kids, but the views from the summit are well worth the effort (Be aware that the path up to Thorpe cloud changes to alleviate erosion, so make sure to follow the path markers).

From the top of Thorpe Cloud, you can see for miles in all directions, with the rolling hills and valleys of the Peak District stretching out before you.
