Description

This is a good out and back singletrack trail if you ride up to the cross viewpoint and back.

Along with the undulating trail, you'll be in for a good climb, about 900 ft.

Once you reach the top, you'll be treated to a very fun downhill ride.

Be aware, there is a lot of hillside exposure that can play with your mind on the way back down. It's best to get up and out, as this trail can be crowded with hikers during the winter months.

I'd rate this trail three stars in the winter because of crowds, but four stars in the summer when fewer people are outside. Beyond the cross viewpoint the trail gradually becomes steeper, looser, more exposed and more technical until just past the golf course you finally enter the magical land of "Hike a Bike." It's a slow beat down from here and only the strongest, most skilled riders from alien planets will find this fun.

It's a better hiking trail than biking trail until the Art Smith Trail junction and then the fun resumes.
