Luštica is probably one of the nicest parts of the Montenegrin coast, a peninsula acting as a natural barrier between the open Adriatic sea and Boka bay.
It's an isolated rural area, with small rustic villages, churches and military heritage.
It also boasts dozens of beaches and coves and crystal waters.
Cycling starts from a fancy marina resort "Lustica Bay" (worth a visit for its beauty and cosmopolitan charm) and is leading towards the area's remote roads and villages.
Winding roads and lots of hills are opening many great views of lush nature and old settlements.
The gravel part of the ride isn't very challenging, it's a wide old military road with no technical sections, so it’s suitable for almost everyone.
Amazing Austro-Hungarian fortresses are spread over the area, and you'll have a chance to visit 2 of the best: Fort Arza and Fort Dobrec (don't miss going inside).
The area is also rich in olive groves, churches and old stone houses.
Refreshment and food tasting are available at few nice households.
Continuing down to coves Zanjice and Mirista, you’ll enjoy the rugged coast and turquoise waters reaching amazing cape Arza, before coming back to the start point by another scenic road.
