Description

The Garden of the Gods is Colorado Springs' most famous park, containing stunning geological formations of uplifted red rock fins.

These staggeringly-beautiful rocks attract over two million visitors per year to the park, making it the most popular in all of Colorado Springs. At over 6 miles in length, the route shown here is one of the longest continuous loops in Garden of the Gods that requires minimal backtracking.

Essentially, this "Outer Loop" circumnavigates the entire park, providing constantly-changing views of the towering red rock formations.

You'll also enjoy up-close-and-personal perspectives of many of the park's most famous rock formations. The eastern portion of this loop swings through the slightly more remote portions of the park, meaning that the crowds thin out, and you might have a chance of finding some solitude.

Thanks to these lighter crowds and the 6-mile length, this loop also makes a great trail run as well as a hike.
