Description

This short, family-friendly hike tours the site of an abandoned zoo that was closed in 1966.

On this short loop hike, you'll see the abandoned animal enclosures, towering trees, and other exhibits that have gone to seed.

This hike has a post-apocalyptic feel to it that's truly unique! The route shown here tours the old zoo and traverses some narrow and slightly steeper trails on the mountainside to create a loop.

From the elevated trails, you get a different perspective on the area.

But for an even easier walk, you can focus on just walking around the zoo itself. Sources: https://www.10adventures.com/hikes/los-angeles/griffith-park-old-zoo-loop/
