Description

The Pacific Spirit Regional Park offers an expansive natural space with numerous trails to run.

The park is situated just east of the University of British Columbia campus on the west end of Vancouver proper.

Pacific Spirit is an excellent option for those wanting a trail run but who are stuck in the city.

Furthermore, Pacific Spirit would be the perfect go-to for those trail runners visiting or studying at nearby UBC. The park is home to mature and new-growth forest with cedar, Douglas fir, and hemlock trees.

The park is accessible year-round, making it a prime location for urban trail running.

There are numerous trails throughout the park, including Cleveland Trail, Deer Fern Trail, Fork Trail, Salal Trail, Salish Trail, and Sasamat Trail.

Runners can make a multitude of courses ranging from a few kilometres up to ultra distances.

The majority of the trails offer minimal elevation change and are non-technical, making the trails perfect for those just getting into trail running, those wanting to do speed work, or those wanting a relatively easy cruise without having to run on paved pathways or sidewalks.

The trails are fairly peaceful and quiet even though the park is located in the heart of the city.
