Description

Colchuck Lake is one of Washington's most beautiful alpine lakes—and with all the lakes to choose from, that's saying something! This crystal-clear alpine gem is flanked by the towering granite monoliths of Dragontail Peak and Colchuck Peak, and the icy waters are fed year-round by the Colchuck Glacier. Many of Washington's alpine lakes are very difficult to reach, but Colchuck, on the other hand, offers a fairly modest hike.

It takes less than 4 miles to reach the lake and only about 2,300 feet of climbing.

However, the final push to the lake is steep and rough, earning this hike a "Difficult" FATMAP rating. Sources: https://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/colchuck-lake
