Description

Trails 409 and 409.5 form an easy to understand loop that's surprisingly technical in both directions.

Climbing up Trail 409 features rock gardens and challenges a-plenty, with a scree field crossing to boot.

Despite being an advanced-level singletrack, overall the grade of the 409 trail is quite moderate, making for a challenging but manageable pedal up the mountainside. Once on Point Lookout, you'll enjoy expansive views of the entire Brush Creek valley.

Dropping down 409.5 is the true reward for slogging to the mountaintop! 409.5 drops fast and furious, with technical challenges the entire way.

The singletrack dives into the trees, offering up dark, loamy dirt between webs of roots that cover most of the trail, creating wheel-sucking holes.

When wet, this section is treacherous.

Lower down, rock gardens keep your gnar skills diverse, and the trail finishes at top-speed.

Once back on the road, you can either drop down the doubletrack road the way you came or opt for a short climb up.
