Description

Hiking up the Pic de Tourmalet from the top of the Panoramic lift is a quick way to access some interesting terrain.

From the top of the ridge, one can ski the East aspect into the valley under Le Taoulet.

This is mellow face and bowl skiing with short chutes as options.

A lot of options.

It is a great way to access the west aspect of Le Taoulet and the various couloirs on that face.

The easy, short skin back up to the Coume piste in La Mongie (i.e., back into the ski area), makes this a quick side country adventure.

It is also possible, with enough snow coverage and enought time, to ski all the way down L'Adour Arizes to the D918 road and get the bus back to La Mongie.
