Description

Cayoosh hut is the easiest backcountry hut to get to in the Duffey Lake Area.

Taking parties usually around 60 minutes to get there.

It makes the perfect first time hut experience because of this short approach that is mostly on FSR. Walk 3km up an easy FSR.

After 3km the FSR end and depending on the time of year may have some alder bashing to do.

Once directly above the hut, make a straight shot through the trees for around 50m right to the hut. The hut is located next to a creek, so depending on the time of year and snow depth you should be able to get water but it’s not always easy. The hut sleeps 5 or 6 in a row in the loft and then 3-5 more downstairs using all the available space.
