Description

Start from the Long Lake Trailhead at Brainard Lake.

The trail begins by contouring the north side of Long Lake, going directly west.

Treeline is reached at Lake Isabelle, where there is a choice to split off slightly north to go to Pawnee Pass.

Pass Lake Isabelle on its north side as well, then follow the drainage as it winds its way around the massive South Buttress of Shoshoni Peak.

To reach the actual glacier, go northwest from the tarn at 11,450'.
