Description

This is very rarely skiable all the way out due to the wind blasting the upper trail receives consistently throughout the year.

The trees hold bad snow but are probably skiable.

Follow signs from the Longs Peak Trailhead to Chasm Lake.

There's a steep snow slope just after Chasm Junction, the name for the trail junction and structure above treeline, that often warrants use of an ice axe (something the hikers often don't realize until they're nearly sliding down it).

To get all the way to Chasm Lake, take a right at the privy and go up the small rocky slope.
