Description

The first 5.3 km of this stage until the Bridge of Oich are mildly hilly, followed by approximately 8 km of flat path to Fort Augustus.

Not long after Fort Augustus, the trail makes a steep climb over the space of about 1 km to get above the tree line.

For the next 5 km, there will be a spectacular panoramic view of Loch Ness and the surrounding highlands, likely the finest views of the entire Great Glen Way.

The trail then makes a quick descent to Invermoriston.
