Description
The stage starts with some flat walking on pavement beside the busy A82 road, so please be aware of traffic.
After about 3.5 km, turn left and follow the main Great Glen Way path into woodlands.
This is the start of a steep climb of 350 meters over the course of 7 km, finally reaching the summit at 382 meters.
About 3 km after the summit, find the Abriachan Eco-Campsite & Café, a convenient and eccentric place to rest and have something to eat.
The trail continues to climb at a mild pitch for about 6 km before starting the long, final, 12-km descent into Inverness.
The section of descent between Craig Dunain and Inverness is steep, so please be mindful.
