Description

The Twin Falls Trail is a scenic and family-friendly hike in Washington that leads to a stunningly-beautiful waterfall.

This 2.5-mile out-and-back trail takes you through a lush forest along the South Fork Snoqualmie River, where you can admire the cascading Twin Falls from different viewpoints. The trail starts at the Twin Falls Trailhead, off Exit 34 on I-90.

You will need a Discover Pass to park here, or you can pay a $10 day-use fee.

The trail is well-marked and easy to follow, with some moderate elevation gain and switchbacks.

Along the way, you will see some giant trees, colorful wildflowers, and maybe some wildlife. The first viewpoint is about a mile from the trailhead, where you can descend some stairs to a wooden platform overlooking the Lower Falls.

This is a great spot to take photos and enjoy the sound of the rushing water.

You can also see some of the Upper Falls in the distance. The second viewpoint is another quarter mile ahead, where you will cross a bridge over the narrow Twin Falls Canyon.

From here, you can see the Upper Falls plunging into a series of pools, as well as the edge of the Lower Falls.

This is another beautiful place to stop and admire the scenery. The third viewpoint is less than a quarter mile from the bridge, where you can see the Upper Falls from above.

This is the end of the official trail, but you can continue for another mile to connect with other trails in Olallie State Park if you want more hiking. The Twin Falls Trail is a popular hike, so expect to see other hikers and dogs on the trail.

It is also accessible year-round, but it can be muddy or snowy in winter, so wear appropriate footwear and clothing.
