Description

If you're looking for a non-technical cross-country pedal in the Klondike Bluffs Trail System, look no further than this straightforward loop! The loop shown here begins from the Klondike Bluffs South trailhead, heading up the mellow valley grade to the north via the easiest trails in the trail system: Jurassic, Jasper, and Agate.

These easy green trails roll up and down along the base of the hills and are almost entirely bereft of technical challenges.

Even so, the flow is great, keeping you rolling along quickly.

While the trails are up-and-down, you will mostly gain elevation on the way north and lose it on the way back south. On the north end of the ride, connect over to Dino Flow for the entree of this long, narrow loop.

Dino Flow is a superb intermediate cross-country trail that harbors fantastic flow! The narrow singletrack winds through small pinon pines and over rocky ledges as it traces its way along the base of the ridge back to the southern trailhead. There are definitely a few rock ledges and rock gardens mixed into this rolling descent, but all of the technical features are quite achievable and simply serve to add some welcome entertainment to the ride.

If you're hesitant about Moab's rocks and rock slabs, this could be a great ride to help hone your skills before heading to the more technical routes in the region.
