Description

Fuhrer Finger 6/2/23: Got an early 1:00am start to avoid rockfall in the finger.

Went up Wapowety but while skiing down the upper Nisqually it was evident that travel would have been much quicker sticking to the glacier on the way up. We took our time to let the snow soften up and the hard spiky snow ice in the finger and upper mountain soon gave way to great skiing around 2:00pm.

Upper Nisqually had some major crevasses opening up but easily navigatable terrain with some large bridges still in solid condition.

No rockfall observed in the finger on the way up or down.

Overall a great day on the mountain!
