The final section of Rossland's Seven Summits ride - https://fatmap.com/routeid/3047083/the-seven-summits-imba-epic - the Dewdney trail is also an understandably popular trip in its own right.

It's never busy (this is Rossland after all!) but it's definitely one of the most ridden trails in the region and as a result is clear and easy to navigate throughout. With easy access from an FSR the Dewdney Trail is usually done as a downhill-only shuttle route but we've drawn the ascent route up to it in case you're riding alone and can't organise a motorised ride to the start! The ride down begins from the Seven Summits south end parking lot and is clearly signposted. Regardless of how you access the trail it's fabulous, with constant moderate technicality but no real difficulty.

Few sections of the trail are smooth, but there are equally no real cruxes, so you'll be fully engaged without ever being gripped! One notable feature of the trail is that it's quite narrow for much of its length, so if your concentration were to slip there's potential for to be off the bike before you've realised what happened.... The trail alternates between dense forest and wild flower meadows, providing a lovely contrast and a sense of the unknown around each corner.

The one constant on the Dewdney Trail is roots, of which there are many, so it becomes much trickier after rain - save it for a dry spell if possible. If you haven't got a shuttle ride home then a short slog up the road awaits you in order to reach the pizzas and beers in Rossland!
