Description

This is a classic and popular ski tour up Wertache Hörnle from the parking area at the bottom.

When there's good snow conditions, you'll have to be up early to get first tracks here - this has long been a local classic and is a popular choice immediately after snowfall. From the parking area head south up through the fields and woods, passing by a hut (which usually closed in Winter).

You will eventually come out onto an open face and then climb this for a few hundred metres to the top of the Wertache Hörnle.

The views of the surrounding hills and the plains to the north are fabulous. There are a few options going down, all of them involving sticking to the right side.

Be careful if you venture into the trees as there are some ravines and steep sections to look out for. You'll end up heading to the right of the hut to return to the parking, rather than follow your original route up.

As such, this whole trip has a pleasant journey-like feel to it despite starting and finishing in the same place.
