Fast and Loose is aptly named: this descent is ridiculously loose and fast! Depending on how much moisture Pajarito has received recently, the "loose" might take precedence over the "fast," but it's still a hell of a ride.

When it's dry, expect to encounter loose, sliding rocks; scree; and dusty dirt sending plumes off your rear tire.

The trail continues to trench out as riders skid down it over the years, with narrow trenches funneling into sharp corners and small root drops.

As you descend the mountain, the grade mellows out a fair bit, keeping this run to merely a "severe" rating.

If the mountain has seen good moisture, the trail might seem dramatically easier than when it's bone dry. Several trails funnel into Fast and Loose, making it a main artery down this section of the mountain.

While you can take Fast and Loose from top to bottom, the iconic Bonecrusher trail funnels straight into it.

Muy Loco is yet another double black that dumps into Fast and Loose.

All of these runs (and subsequent traffic) coming together only accelerate the erosion at work on this fall-line skid fest.
