Description

The condition of the couloirs and access slope can be readily seen from the road.

The ascent is obvious and the summit can be reached using the north west face to gain height using climbing skins.

The north ridge can be also be booted but crampons and an ice axe should be carried if booting.

It is possible to locate the descent couloir from the upper reaches of the North Ridge on the ascent.

The descent starts with a gentle roll over.

The crux is a steep tightening in the couloir at half height with a short section of 45 degrees, but it never feels too serious or too narrow. The area behind the Boar of Badenoch is popular with ski tourers and holds multiple options that can be linked up for a big day out
