Description

A relatively easy hike in Franconia Notch, this 3-mile loop provides spectacular views of Franconia Ridge, Lonesome Lake, Cannon (and the cannon balls), and Kinsman Ridge.

Just off the loop on the Jimmy trail is the Lonesome Lake Shelter, the largest shelter in the White Mountains open year-round.

This hike is excellent for families and beginner hikers and certainly gets the legs moving. Note: The lake is rumored to have leeches in it.

I can neither confirm nor deny that so give yourself a good check if end up in the water.
