Description

The best top-to-bottom flow trail lap in the Purgatory Bike Park connects four different trails together: 7th Heaven, Divinity, the short Second Chance trail, and then finishes on the "Jump Trail." 7th Heaven provides the perfect warm-up with beautiful bermed corners, rolling grade reversals, and small tabletop jumps.

This trail has a tendency to change from year to year due to damage from the winter season and subsequent reconstruction, and in some years, it offers the option to gap over some of the berms and double (or triple) up some of the rollers.

Whether you approach this as an easy beginner flow trail or a challenge is entirely up to you! Divinity ratchets the size of the jumps up to intermediate level, with an array of beautifully-sculpted tabletops and a few small hips.

The speed on Divinity is much faster than 7th Heaven, thanks to a steeper grade and tall, beautiful berms to rail! There are several other features to watch out for, including nose bonk option at the top of the trail, a jump over a large culvert, and some small booters opening up double opportunities. Second Chance is ultimately just a connector to reach the Jump Trail, but the trail character is decidedly different here, with a narrow bench, some exposure on the downhill side, and a few rocks to negotiate. Once you take the hard left turn to drop into the final Jump Line, be sure to pedal for the first gap jump! Once you have your speed up, you can carry plenty of momentum through this beautiful pack of tabletop jumps (with one hip).

This is easily the best set of jumps in the bike park, with the biggest takeoffs and smoothest landings.

They're also some of the largest hits in the park (as of the time of this writing), but they're still a long way from being "big" compared to other modern bike parks. Even though the Purgatory Bike Park doesn't contain any absolutely massive jumps, this trail combination provides an entertaining top-to-bottom flow trail run that has entertained locals for years.
