Description

Follows the 2023 TCT Runs Calero 15K trail run route (winter).

The route is 100% off road, with a large portion on dirt fire roads and remaining on single track.

Besides one tiny hill, the first 1.4 miles are very slightly uphill.

At this point, you turn onto Rancho Del Oro trail (fire road), which has some very steep sections (>= 20%).

This connects with Bald Peaks trail, which also has some very steep sections.

Overall, this first "papa bear" climb is about 1100'.

From here you go steeply down Needlegrass and gently down Longwall Canyon until you start your next climb on the single track, Little Llagas Creek trail along with a small section of fire road on Bald Peaks trail.

Overall, this second "mama bear" climb is about 600'.

You then go down the very steep Rancho Del Oro trail you climbed earlier and then veer off on Figueroa and the Valecito trail for a smaller "baby" bear climb of 250'.

At this point, you can see the Calero parking lot and you drop down and have one last 50' climb before finishing.
