Description

A continuation of the Olympic Discovery Trail, the Spruce Railroad Trail is an easy hike on the northern shore of Lake Crescent.

With virtually the entire trail being paved, and there being minimal height gain/loss, this is a great option for families or those looking to get into longer hikes. The line we've drawn here is linear, but a logistically simpler option than following our route is to do a there-and-back to Ovington.

Carrying on to the end of the trail is recommended, and takes you through some lovely forested sections, but it does create the need for a car shuttle. Regardless of whether you hike all of this trail or just a section of it (or you go really big and climb Pyramid Mountain as well!), it's a superb trip along one of the Olympic Peninsula's many natural wonders.
