Description

The Trail of 100 Giants runs through a spectacular grove of giant sequoia trees in Sequoia National Forest/the Giant Sequoia National Monument.

Despite not being located in the *actual* national park, this sequoia grove—known as the Long Meadow Grove—is absolutely spectacular and is well worth experiencing.

The trees in this grove are "estimated to be up to 1,500 years," [according to the USFS](https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/sequoia/recarea/?recid=79826). The name of the trail comes from the number of Sequoias in the grove.

However, technically, "the grove contains approximately 125 giant sequoias greater than 10 feet in diameter and more than 700 giant sequoias less than 10 feet in diameter.

The largest tree in the grove has a diameter of 20 feet and is 220 feet in height," according to the USFS. The trail itself is an easy 1.3-mile paved path with several options to shorten the route if needed.

Thanks to the wide paved path (with a few wide wooden bridges), this trail is ADA-accessible and is perfect for hikers of all ages and abilities. **Note:** There is a $12 per vehicle parking fee at the trailhead. Sources: https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/sequoia/recarea/?recid=79826
