Description

The route shown here combines singletrack trails and a short section of road with gorgeous beach walking for a spectacular 2.4-mile loop through the incredible landscape of Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve. The hike begins by following the road for a short distance into the natural reserve before peeling off on a trail to head through the shrub-covered hills on its way down to the beach.

The trail descends a bit steeply in places to reach the shoreline below. The highlight of the hike is undoubtedly walking along the sand next to the waves crashing on the spectacular Torrey Pines Beach with the cliffsides towering above—be sure to savor this incredible landscape!
