Description

A repeat of Honiara Adventure Walk #5 with an alternative approach to the ridge from the Kongulai Pump Station that provided a much cleaner and easier to follow track up to the ridge. A strenuous hike starting from the Kongulai Pump Station, climbing through the jungle up the ridge alongside the weir.

The track along the ridge line is well trodden and fairly easy to follow, with one technical section descending down into the valley.

After a couple of dips and rises through the valleys, the track emerges onto active logging roads.

The condition of these logging roads varies greatly, depending on rain and machinery activity with deep mud in sections.

At the logging camp, the hike follows a disused logging track where the jungle has started to reclaim the cutting, providing a walking trail in place of the once accessible road.

This trail emerges at a quarry before reconnecting with the main dirt road back to the starting point.
