Description
Ho'opi'i Falls is a wonderful spot in the heart of Kauai.
It's actually comprised of two waterfalls - Upper Ho'opi'i Falls and Lower Ho'opi'i Falls.
The area is lush, green, and surrounded by tropical vegetation.
The falls themselves are known for their picturesque setting and refreshing pools below, which many visitors swim in. The trail up to the falls can be muddy and passes through some dense jungle, but it's never technical, and getting wet feet is the biggest hazard.
Hiking through the lush Kauai forests is otherworldly, and it's remarkable how remote this hike feels, despite being so close to Kapa'a. The return trip is by the same route, just make sure you pack some spare socks in case you got wet on the way in!
