Description

This walk explores a couple of detour tracks we passed along the previous Kongulai Catchment & Logging Roads Walk (Adventure Walks #5 & #15).

Linking these new tracks with the familiar start and finish of the previous walks made, not only a viable, but an AMAZING route, with a number of points of interest.

There is plenty of climbing on this route, with 354 metres elevation gain, and a couple of slippery slopes (one mud slide that was so much fun!!).

It is a very pretty jungle walk that passes by an active timber mill site and a small cave, which is the source of the feeder stream that flows into the Kongulai River.

There is also a small waterfall on the side of the main logging road that I haven't noticed before (flowing again due to heavy rain).

Expect red ants, 'gotcha vines', wet feet and a muddy bum - all part of the adventure!
