Description

If you've ever dreamed a perfect couloir, this would be how your dream would look like. Picture it: Two, almost three, flawlessly etched lines on the NE face of the Bürgle are awaiting for you. Starting from the Untere Gantrischhütte, follow the path towards the Morgetepass.

In icy conditions, ski crampons might be useful in the short traverse. On the final ridge of the Bürgle, you can easily spot the entrances of the couloirs in the NE face. It's like they were designed for aficionados of steep skiing : initiating with a thrilling 40-43° slope, only to gracefully decrease and widen up to allow to express the best of your skiing.

In good conditions, they are magical. Boasting a modest elevation gain of 600 meters, these lines call you to be conquered not just once, but twice, thrice, or as many times as your legs can carry you ! Watch out for the cornices at the entrance of the couloir(s).

Depending on the conditions, it might be prudent to secure the descent into the couloir with a rope.
